swiped a great interdisciplanary lesson/project that I have used for many years. The projects the students completed adorned the walls to her classroom. When I saw this I said, "That's my work right there! I came up with that! I'm the one who thought that up while laying in bed. Those ideas are mine!" I said nothing. I'm glad she was able to implement it with her students. I like her as a teacher as she is truly concerned about the students. It's no sweat off my back. I only wished that she would have perhaps told me something like, "Hey that project that you gave Ms. X when you taught with her - I used it and it worked out wonderfully," That would have been nice to hear - but really It's not a problem for me. BUT NOW - if the mayor makes this all about real money and about compensating teachers for being superb - I would have been ENRAGED that somehow MY IDEAS were used by someone else not to make me look good but someone else. You are correct that it would foster a cutthroat attitude among teachers. I would not share any good ideas with peers. Why should I?

<link rel='self'
